We’re building a missional team here at WCU.
Our purpose then at WCU is to reach this campus by launching and growing spiritual movements all over the campus using contextualized ministries and ethnic ministries to the end that we would be able to raise up laborers who will help us reach the 2,000,000 students in the Mid-Atlantic Region and the 7,000,000 students in the US. Not to mention the other 6.5 billion people in the world.
There are about 12,800 students enrolled at WCU. Roughly 9,000 live here on campus, the rest commute and/or are graduate students. There are 200+ students involved currently in our movements. With all the groups on campus, that potentially leaves 12, 300 students who may need to hear the gospel.
There were ten small group bible studies last year with an average of 7-13 in each study
20 students are on a summer project this year
We have 6 student directors/interns, multiple students eager to be discipled.
At WCU we currently have the following movements:
AIA(Athletes In Action)Impact
IJM(International Justice Mission)
Faculty Commons
Cru
There are 2 full time staff. A few volunteers. Lots of students leaders, and we can always use more.
That’s our challenge, raising up leaders who will invest in the lives of students, faculty, and staff here at West Chester University and the surrounding area. We’re in the process of building a missional team, committed to reaching WCU and various WCU communities (Greeks, athletes, Internationals, etc.) with the gospel of Jesus Christ. By "reaching," we mean an ongoing ministry (or movement) that helps people know Christ (Win), encourages people to grow in their faith (Build), and trains others in the work of the ministry (Send).
We are looking for and investing in people who want and desire to be a part of what we’re doing in trying to reach the world for Jesus Christ. Being a part of helping to fulfill the great commission by reaching college students at WCU, around the region, and around the globe. Whether it’s their time, their finances, or both we need a team to accomplish the task set before us. A team of people who are growing together in their love for Jesus Christ and working alongside each other to see an incredible growth of campus ministry at WCU through the process of discipleship and evangelism.
As a missional team, we are committed to reaching WCU and various WCU communities (Greeks, athletes, Internationals, etc.) with the gospel of Jesus Christ. By "reaching," we mean an ongoing ministry (or movement) that helps people know Christ (Win), encourages people to grow in their faith (Build), and trains others in the work of the ministry (Send).
We need people who understand the vision and want to join in. Here’s how.
